FAQ
Q:How often should I change my filter on my furnace?
A: Your filter has a life span from 30 days to 6 months, depending on the type and size of filter and the frequency of use of your equipment. A 1″ thick woven filter should be changed every 30 days. A 4″ thick pleated filter may last as long as 6 months. The only way to be certain is to have Gag Sheet Metal perform an assessment of your equipment and needs. You can request an appointment at info@gagsheetmetal.com. You may also feel free to call the office numbers at 507 354 3813 or 507 386 0300.
Q: My flat roof on my home is leaking, do you fix leaks?
A: Certainly! Gag Sheet Metal is a full service roofing contractor. With our Senior Leadership Team having over 100 combined years of roofing experience. In most cases, calling us will save you headaches, time, and money. We are able to look at flat membrane, built-up(tar) metal, shingles, or any other type of roofing you have issues with. See our contact page or email us at info@gagsheetmetal.com
Q: Are there any advantages to replacing my furnace now, or should I wait till spring?
A: Among the reasons to replace now is the federal tax rebate you can receive. Qualifying systems may receive up to $1500 back. But, this is only currently in place through 2010, so time is limited. Remember, too, that a new system will likely be much more energy efficient than what you have now, and will begin saving you money right away.
Q: With the recent storm damage, should I have my flat roof inspected?
A: Yes, many flat roofing systems are damaged without showing it for several months or perhaps years down the road. Our professional inspector, Ron, is trained to spot problems others will miss.
Q: Are you local or are you one of those guys that comes into town and leaves when the work is done?
A: We are as local as you can get. We have been in southern Minnesota since 1904. Among the volunteers we employ there are firefighters, auxillary policemen, youth coaches, and School Board Members. Our employees and owners have kids in the local school systems, and are dedicated to being a local contractor to the core of its meaning.
